LHPL Contracting (ABN 36 646 399 411) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of our business, how we use it, and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you make an enquiry through this website or contact us directly, we may collect:
If you become a client, we collect the additional information reasonably required to prepare estimates, enter into a building contract and deliver the project, including site address, ownership details and payment information.
Our website may also collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, through analytics tools and cookies. This information is not used to identify you personally.
We do not sell personal information. We do not send marketing communications unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
We share personal information only where necessary to carry out the purposes above, for example with your architect or designer, engineers and consultants, subcontractors and suppliers engaged on your project, our insurers, accountants and legal advisers, and service providers that host our website, email and business systems. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it appropriately.
We may disclose personal information where required by law, including under building, planning and consumer legislation in Tasmania.
We store personal information in secure cloud-based business systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access or disclosure. We retain project records for the period required by law and by our warranty and insurance obligations, and destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first and we will work to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
This website may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and advertising platforms, to measure traffic, understand how visitors use the site and, where enabled, deliver and measure advertising. These tools may collect device identifiers, IP address, approximate location and browsing behaviour and may set cookies from third-party domains. You can disable cookies in your browser, although some features of the site may not function correctly. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on available from Google.
We may occasionally contact past clients, architects and enquirers with news about our work where we reasonably expect it to be of interest. Every such communication will include a simple way to opt out, and we will act on opt-out requests promptly. We do not use sensitive information for marketing.
During a project we may take photographs and video of the site and works for progress records, quality documentation, safety, insurance and marketing. We will not publish images that identify a client, an occupant or a private residential address without consent. We may reference a project by suburb or region and credit the architect or designer.
We do not ordinarily collect sensitive information. Where a client volunteers information such as health or accessibility requirements relevant to the design or construction of their home, we use it only for that purpose and with their consent.
Our business systems, including email, document storage, estimating software and website hosting, are provided by third parties who may process and store data in countries outside Australia, including the United States. By providing personal information you consent to such disclosure. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through it.
You may browse this website without identifying yourself. We can only respond to enquiries and provide our services if you provide the information reasonably necessary to do so.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this website.
